Antique Fables' Education Program
Shakespeare is a vital part of most high school curriculums, however engaging students on the topic can be challenging. At AFTC, we believe that we can breathe life into these plays in ways that will register with young people in order to encourage them to embrace Shakespeare's amazing yet complex language and themes. The AFTC education program focuses on the teaching of Shakespeare through workshops as well as a presentation of a Shakespearian play (list of workshop options coming Fall 2015).
THE WORKSHOPS allow for instructors to select from a variety of topics tailored for both English and Drama classes which either compliment or fill gaps in their individual lesson plans. These workshops can be presented in an academic, theoretical, or hands on way in order to suit the temperament, interest, and enthusiasm of each individual class. No two groups are the same, and AFTC wishes to create an tailor made, flexible workshop plan to meet each classroom's needs.
THE PLAYS are to be an interactive and relatable in nature. We aim to exemplify the result that is created when the skills or ideas taught in the workshops are applied to the play being studied by the class. These plays will be developed for flexible spaces, and can be done anywhere that is convenient right at your school!
Plays can be requested for 2016 until November 31st.
